The Forum raises awareness of drug and alcohol issues in the community, promotes strategies that urge people to precede healthier lifestyles and lobbies for improved health services. In 2016 the Forum celebrated 10 years with an anniversary community art exhibition. The Community Garden is constantly evolving and aims to showcase plants that can be responsibly grown in an dry environment. The Garden encourages local residents to learn about gardening in an enjoyable outdoor space through attainable activities, social connections and healthy lifestyle choices. Dry gardening techniques are also demonstrated to help locals learn how to tend their own gardens. Education programs for school children urge the joy of gardening to all ages. This forum supports and works closely with early childhood and education providers on initiatives that enhance learning outcomes for all children and young people. The Environment Forum aims to amplify environmental sustainability in areas such as water and power usage, waste management and through a range of programs that encourage an environmentally conscious community. Living in an outback environment means that we have a heightened awareness of our impact on our surroundings. The Environment Forum works with the community to flourish programs and activities that urge environmental sustainability and more efficient management of waste, water and power. The Family Forum aims to represent and collectively help local families to strengthen their resilience through a range of community development programs. The Forum also runs promotional campaigns to support improved physical and mental health for all residents. This Forum celebrates the cultural diversity of our community. The Multicultural Forum encourages people to hoist ideas and suggestions for events and projects which rejoice cultural diversity in our community. Community road safety is based on the idea that people living in a special community are best placed to know what the local road safety issues are. This Forum supports and encourages the involvement and participation of women in community life. A range of activities, events and programs are rehearsed and managed by young people for young people. The Youth Advisory Committee meets regularly to plan events and activities that foster young people to join in and participate in community life. In addition to lobbying, the Board has a community development focus which aims to improve the quality of life of the community. The Board's subcommittees (known as Forums) plan develop and operate a range of programs, activities and events that encourage these aims and cover all sectors of the community.
